CELEBRATING THE LIFE & LEGACY (He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4)

Phobie’s journey began on August 22, 1950, in Lexington, Mississippi. She was the second oldest of nine children born to Fred and Fannie Love. Her remarkable journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on October 15, 2025.

At an early age, Phobie accepted Jesus Christ into her heart at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, Mississippi.

Phobie received her formal education through the Holmes County School District, attending Lexington Attendance Center, one of the first high schools in the county to integrate during the 1960s, this is a testament to the strength and courage that would define her life.

She was united in marriage to Tracy Vann, and together they were blessed with one beloved daughter, Veda V. Vann.

Like Phoebe in the Bible, Phobie embodied the spirit of service, compassion, and generosity. She was a true helper and a woman of quiet strength. She was a survivor, overcoming colon cancer and defeating breast cancer not once, but twice, with strength, faith, and determination. When liver cancer came, her body grew weary, and the Lord gently whispered, “Come home, my child, and be healed.”

Phobie was a strong advocate for Cancer Awareness, using her journey to inspire others to fight with courage and strength.

To her family, she was more than a mother or grandmother, she was the heart of the family. The babysitter, the taxi driver, the chef, the mentor, and the matriarch. If you knew her, you would love her. Her kindness, laughter, and wisdom left an imprint on every life she touched.

After more than thirty years of dedicated service, Phobie retired from Target, where she was cherished by her coworkers and known for her warmth and work ethics.

Phobie’s life reflected love, faith, and perseverance. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through her family and all those blessed to have known her.

Preceded in death by her father, Fred Love, mother, Fannie Randle Love, brother Robert Love, nephews Sheldon Love and LaMont Love.

Phobie leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Veda Vann of Highland, California; grandchildren, Billy Fraizer, Daijah Amos and Taylor Amos. Great-grandchildren, Derrick, Aubree, and Caleb Johnson.
