With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Anthony Clayton “Tony” Thompson, a loving son, devoted father, trusted friend, and compassionate caregiver. A native Washingtonian and long-time resident of Los Angeles, California, Anthony carried the strength, resilience, and spirit of both cities throughout his life. Educated in the District of Columbia Public & Private School System, he pursued additional certifications in counseling, food services, and electronics, reflecting his curiosity, intelligence, and commitment to personal growth. Anthony was gifted in many ways. He spoke multiple languages and possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His greatest gift, however, was his heart for helping others. He dedicated much of his life to caregiving and supporting individuals in the mental health community, offering compassion, dignity, and understanding to those who needed it most. Life presented Anthony with challenges, but he met them with courage, determination, and unwavering fortitude. Through every season, he continued to fight, persevere, and leave a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him. Anthony leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. He is survived by his beloved mother, Viola Ford; his two sons, Rico Thompson and Avery Owens-Thompson; and a host of extended family members, dear friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and presence. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he shared, the lives he uplifted, and the memories he created will remain forever in our hearts.
