Surely we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.

With love in our hearts, we celebrate the life of our beloved Anjail Abdul Rahman, whose 38 years were a blessing to all who knew her. Born on March 24 in Long Beach, California, Anjail’s presence was a radiant light; she was warm in her kindness, generous in her giving, and bright enough to illuminate every room she entered. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and dedication to helping others reflected the beauty of her faith, leaving an imprint on countless hearts that will endure for years to come.

A proud graduate of Junipero Serra High School, Anjail pursued her passion for caring for others by studying medicine, becoming a certified nursing and medical assistant. Her work was more than a profession, it was a calling, carried out with compassion, empathy, and a smile that brought comfort to those in her care.

Beyond her career, Anjail was the heart of her family: a devoted daughter, a loving mother, a cherished sister and aunt, and a treasured friend. She found joy in preparing meals for her loved ones, often filling her home with the aromas of her cooking, the melody of music, and the warmth of shared laughter. Her love language was giving, whether through a heartfelt gift, a helping hand, or a kind word that could lift a weary soul.

A proud mother, she adored her children and cherished every moment spent guiding them through life’s lessons. She found great joy in time with her nieces.

Anjail was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Hanan Rahman (Gertie) and brother Amir Rainey-Rahman, who both loved her dearly. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion carried on by her father, Murad Abdul Rahman, Sr., and her stepmother, Jamie Rahman; son Kuron Domingo and daughter Laila Gaines; her siblings, Karura P. Rainey York Ed.D. {Rick}, Murad Rahman II, Muneerah (Myla) Rahman, Nena Rahman, and Kamal Rahman; her uncles, Yah Yah Abdul Hasan and former LA Lakers and Clippers player Don Chaney; and her cherished nieces, Khalila and Kaliah Rahman.

The Rahman family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shared during this difficult time. A special thanks goes to the medical team at UCI Health—Lakewood for their diligent care of our beloved Anjail.

Anjail loved the color purple—a symbol of enlightenment and inspiration. We will always be enlightened by her life and inspired by her legacy that we carry forward.
